Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
