And a sign for them is the dead earth; We gave it life and We produced from it grain, so they eat from it. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 that they might eat of its fruits. It was not their hands that made them. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 Not a Sign comes to them from among the Signs of their Lord, but they turn away therefrom. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They will not (have to) wait for aught but a single Blast: it will seize them while they are yet disputing among themselves! 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
