A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away! 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing, 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
