Say: 'Who shall guard you by night and in the daytime from the All-merciful?' Nay, but from the Remembrance of their Lord they are turning away. 42 Or do they have lords of their own besides Us who can defend them? But they are not able to help themselves, nor can they find protection against Us. 43 Nay, We gave the luxuries of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them. See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will overcome. 44 Tell them: "I only warn you by the Revelation." But the deaf do not hear the cry when they are warned. 45 If a blast of the torment of your Lord strikes them, they will say, "Woe to us! We have been unjust people." 46 We shall fix the scales of justice on the Day of Resurrection, so that none will be wronged in the least; and even if it were equal to a mustard seed in weight We shall take it (into account). We are sufficient for computation. 47 In the past We granted to Moses and Aaron the criterion (for judgment), and a Light and a Message for those who would do right,- 48 (For) those who fear their Lord in secret and they are fearful of the hour. 49 And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down.
