The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25
