The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
