The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And those who keep a guard on their prayers; 9 These are the heirs 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
