Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
