Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
