When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (Pharaoh) said: "Did we not cherish thee as a child among us, and didst thou not stay in our midst many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then when I was mistaken. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Fir'awn said unto those around him: hear ye not? 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said: even though I bring unto thee something manifest? 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
