The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin! These are the verses of the Quran and the Book that makes (things) clear 1 A guidance and good tidings for the believers, 2 who establish Prayer and give Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 3 As for those who do not believe in the Everlasting Life, We have decorated for them their works, and they wander blindly. 4 It is they whom the worst of suffering awaits: for it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the greatest losers! 5 And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur'an from one Wise and Knowing. 6 Moses said to his family, "I have seen some fire. I shall bring you some news about it or some fire so that you can warmyourselves". 7 But when he reached it, a voice called out: "Blessed is He who is in the fire and all around it. Praised be God, the Lord of all the worlds. 8 Moses, I am God, the Majestic and All-wise. 9 Now cast your rod!" But when he saw the rod writhing as though it were a serpent, he turned his back in retreat and did not even look behind. "O Moses, have no fear. Messengers have no fear in My presence, 10 “Except the one* who does injustice and then after evil changes it for virtue – then indeed I am Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Other than the Prophets.) 11 Put your hand in the bosom of your shirt; it will come out white without any blemish. This will be one of nine tokens for the Pharaoh and his people, who are a wicked lot indeed." 12 Then when Our signs came unto them illuminating, they said: this is a magic manifest. 13 And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. 14
