Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
