And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin. 31 And come not near unto adultery. Lo! it is an abomination and an evil way. 32 And do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause, and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying; surely he is aided. 33 And do not touch the substance of an orphan, save to improve it, before he comes of age. And be true to every promise - for, verily, [on Judgment Day] you will be called to account for every promise which you have made! 34 And give full measure when you measure out, and weigh with a true balance; this is fair and better in the end. 35 (O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart - of each of these it will be asked. 36 And do not go about in the land exultingly, for you cannot cut through the earth nor reach the mountains in height. 37 All that - its evil is ever, in the sight of your Lord, detested. 38 This is of what your Lord has revealed to you of wisdom, and do not associate any other god with Allah lest you should be thrown into hell, blamed, cast away. 39 Has then your Lord (O pagans of Makkah) preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself from among the angels daughters. Verily! You utter an awful saying, indeed. 40
