The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And who guard their prayers. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
