The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 and upon them, and on the ships, you are borne. 22
