۞ And We sent the divine revelation to Moosa that, “Journey along with My bondmen within the night, for you will be pursued.” 52 Then Fir'awn sent unto the cities callers: 53 [And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band, 54 And lo! they are offenders against us. 55 But we are a fully accounted army." 56 Thus did We drive them out of their gardens and springs 57 and their treasures and excellent dwellings. 58 Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh's people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 Then they followed them at the sunrise; 60 And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' 61 Said he, 'No indeed; surely my Lord is with me; He will guide me.' 62 Then We revealed to Moses, 'Strike with thy staff the sea'; and it clave, and each part was as a mighty mount. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We delivered Musa and those with him together. 65 Then drowned the others. 66 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 67 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 68

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
