The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
