And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And they are with Us, verily, of the chosen and the best! 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for plenteous fruit and drink. 51 ۞ And with them will be maidens of equal age with modest gaze. 52 This is what you are promised for the day of reckoning. 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or are they here, and our eyes have missed them?" 63 Surely that is true the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire 64
