۞ Have they not journeyed in the land that they might observe the end of those who came before them? They were even greater in strength than they and left behind more splendid traces in the land. Then Allah seized them because of their sins and they had none who could protect them from Allah. 21 That was because there came to them their apostles with clear arguments, but they rejected (them), therefore Allah destroyed them; surely He is Strong, Severe in retribution. 22 We sent Moses with Our signs and with clear authority 23 Unto Pharaoh and Haman and Korah, but they said: A lying sorcerer! 24 And when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, 'Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and spare their women.' But the guile of the unbelievers is ever in error. 25 "Let me kill Moses," the Pharaoh said, "and let him call to his Lord. I fear that he will change your faith and spread corruption in the land." 26 Moses said: 'I take refuge in my Lord and in your Lord from every proud (person), who does not believe in Day of Reckoning' 27
