54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose verses have been distinguished and explained, a lucid discourse for people who understand, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who give not the poor-due, and who are disbelievers in the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
