The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ HaMeem. 1 This Book is revealed from God the Majestic and All-wise. 2 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them otherwise than in accordance with [an inner] truth, and for a term set [by Us]: and yet, they who are bent on denying the truth turn aside from the warning which has been conveyed unto them. 3 Say: "Have you [really] given thought to what it is that you invoke instead of God? Show me what these [beings or forces] have created anywhere on earth! Or had they, perchance, a share in [creating] the heavens? [If so,] bring me any divine writ preceding this one, or any [other] vestige of knowledge - if what you claim is true!" 4 And who is in greater error than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call? 5 And when men are gathered together they shall be their enemies, and shall be deniers of their worshipping (them). 6 When Our clear revelations are read out to them, the infidels say of the truth, when it has come to them: "This is pure magic." 7 Do they claim that the Messenger himself has fabricated it? (If so), tell them: “If I have fabricated it, then you have no power to protect me from Allah's chastisement. He knows well the idle talk in which you indulge. He suffices as a witness between me and you. He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” 8 Say: I am no new thing among the messengers (of Allah), nor know I what will be done with me or with you. I do but follow that which is inspired in me, and I am but a plain warner. 9 Tell them: "Think (of the consequence) if this is from God and you deny it when a witness from the people of Israel had testified to the like of it and come to believe, while you spurn it?" Assuredly God does not guide a wicked people. 10
