Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
