Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
