Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
