Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
