The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 on unrolled parchment, 3 by the Visited House, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 and by the swelling ocean, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe, then, will be on that Day to the beliers 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in belief. We shall cause their progeny to join them, and We shall not diminish unto them aught of their own work. Every man is for that which he hath earned a pledge. 21 We shall provide them with fruits and the meat of the kind which they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
