(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
