So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
