[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to all [Our] warnings; 23 So they said: What! a single mortal from among us! Shall we follow him? Most surely we shall in that case be in sure error and distress: 24 Why - on him alone from among all of us should a [divine] reminder have been bestowed? Nay, but he is a boastful liar!" 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 They shall send the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch thou them and keep patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 But they called their companion who took hold of her and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful. 35 Lot warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings -- 36 they even wanted to seduce his guests -- but We blinded them, and said, "Taste My punishment now that you have scorned My warnings!" -- 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 “So taste My punishment, and My warnings!” 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
