The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 You will become three categories: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And clustered plantains, 29 And extended shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and raised couches 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
