The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Terror descends 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 a good many of those of olden times, 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 and extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
