▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,- 76 That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 A revelation by the Lord of the worlds. 80 Would you say that this statement is a lie? 81 Would you reject the sustenance that you receive rather than give thanks? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 Then why is it not-- if you are not held under authority-- 86 do you not bring back his soul, if you speak truly? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights. 89 And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, 90 Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. 91 But if he is of the deniers and the errants, 92 Then an entertainment of boiling water. 93 and a roasting in Hell. 94 Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. 95 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
