Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 rain from the sky, 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 And has placed the moon therein, an illumination, and has placed the sun, a lighted lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
