The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 Arise and warn! 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 Pollution shun! 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And children present [with him] 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then looked he, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
