I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mortals, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
