By no means! By the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
