Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to humans, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
