Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as though they were frightened wild asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
