Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
