Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Verily that which ye are promised is about to befall. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known extent. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Surely it sends up sparks like palaces, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
