The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they differ. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 Requital corresponding. 26 Indeed, they did not hope for a Reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
