The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains shall be moved off so that they shall remain a mere semblance. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 It will be a place of return 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
