The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
