The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
