The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
