The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
