Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
