Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
