Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky breaks apart 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 the oceans are merged together, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 but you should know that there are angelic guards 10 Noble and recording; 11 who know what you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they shall by no means be absent from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 A day when no soul shall possess aught to succour another soul; that day the Command shall belong unto God. 19
