The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 unto a mighty day 5 The day all mankind will stand before the Lord of all the worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 It will then be said, “This is what you used to deny.” 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 BEHOLD, those who have abandoned themselves to sin are wont to laugh at such as have attained to faith 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
