The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
